Musculoskeletal Involvement in Pediatric Behçet's Disease: A Single Center Experience

Background: Behçet’s disease (BD) is an inflammatory characterized by recurrent oral ulcers, genital ocular manifestations, and vascular involvement. Musculoskeletal symptoms are common both at the time of presentation throughout course BD, similar also observed in pediatric (PEDBD). This study aims to report frequency role musculoskeletal involvement PEDBD followed our clinic. Method: retrospective medical record review included a total 90 patients diagnosed with before age 16 years between January 2010 December 2022. Results: Of patients, 48 (53.3%) were female 42 (46.7%) male. Their mean diagnosis was 12.4 years. All (100%) had while 55 (61.1%) 44 (48.9%) involvement, 37 (41.1%) skin 19 (21.1%) 17 (18.9%) neurological Among joint 27 (65.9%) arthritis, 41 arthralgia, (90.1%) oligoarticular 29 (70.7%) unilateral The most commonly affected joints knee (63.4%), ankle (31.7%), wrist (19.5%), sacroiliac (14.6%), hands (12.2%), elbow (9.8%), feet (4.9%). Conclusions: can be as early sign diagnosis. Therefore, it important thoroughly inquire about possible BD children symptoms.
